Flo's @ Chino

Serendipity...that is the only thing that can explain how we ended up at Flo's Cafe at the Chino airport. We've been trying/planning/meaning to go to Chino for a loooong time, but something always goes wrong or prevents us from making it there. Then, this past Sunday, we planned to go to Corona airport for lunch and gas and found out only by listening to the ATIS and flying over it that the whole thing is underwater! (It was a beautiful day preceeded by several rainy days.) So, we diverted to Chino and finally got our lunch at Flo's!

I had a grilled cheese with tomato and fries. Our server, Lizzy, was SUPER friendly and helpful and made Piper happy with crayons and a color-in placemat/menu. We played Uno (with the new waterproof deck that Santa left in Piper's stocking, which she is way stoked to be carrying around) while we waited for our food, which is a great way to kill time and share quality family time simultaneously! I even bought this cute mug:

The best part of the meal (besides Lizzy) was the fresh salsa that I think they make themselves. I put it on my sandwich and fries, and was about to stir it into my coffee before Erik stopped me.

Very interesting mix of folks at Flo's...older locals, cow-pokes, and a slightly grungy May/December couple that may have been celebrities, clearly on their way back from a weekend of debauchery at a ski resort somewhere.

All in all, a good time. Luke was pretty mellow, though he wanted to be out of the carseat and standing on my lap so he could see the sky and ground and mountains. I love my little pilots-to-be!
